Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Hi, my name is Hector Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a dual master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. I was born and raised in Cuba until in my early 20s when I decided to move to Europe. After two years living in Sweden and enjoying the beautiful Viking’s lands of Scandinavia, life's circumstances led me to Miami, Florida, where I settled with my family and have been living for the past 25 years. I graduated from Albizu University with a dual master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. My work for the last 4 years has been focused on helping our clients to heal their difficult life experiences as a Certified Trauma Incident Reduction Counselor. Besides working as a traumatologist, I use a solution-focused-client-centered therapy designed to help our clients to look at their life’s issues from different perspectives and identify new pathways to solve personal problems, family, work, etc. This technique allows the clients to use their resources, skills, and life experiences to achieve their life’s goals and be proud of how much they can accomplish by themselves. I enjoy gardening for self-care, humor, reading philosophy, theology, traveling the world, arts, and lately, I found myself interested in ancient archeology and ancient civilizations. I am also fluent in English and Spanish.Meet Marta Iglesias., MS, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Marta was born in Spain, where she studied a bachelor in clinical Psychology. She has always had a deep passion of learning about different cultures, and different ways of improving our quality of life. Marta decided to come to Miami 6 years ago, where she did her Mental Health Counseling masters program, which reinforced her way of perceiving the client, as the expert of their own life. Marta makes sure that her sessions are safe spaces, where the client feels, respected, and accepted, we all have our own story that we have to accept and respect as well. Marta has worked for some years doing trauma work for different populations and needs. Marta is certified as Trauma Incident Reduction facilitator, and provides personal development during her sessions to empower, and prepare the client to process their traumas and build their self-confidence and self-esteem. Every change starts in ownself. Marta has travelled to different countries in need as Puerto Rico after the hurricane to give them emotional support. Marta learnt about everyone's resilience and survival mode in catastrophic situations, which help her see the individual emotional process that we go through. Marta uses this perspective to do individualized therapy to help the client achieve their needs. "I help through a wellness model, connect and understand your emotions, by looking into your achievements and strengths that will build your self-confidence, in order to be ready to accept your past experiences, enjoy the present and be ready to focus on your goals to face the future".
