Meet Alejandra Corujo., M.S.,
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Alejandra Corujo is a founder and Director at Insight Behavioral Center.
She was born in Argentina and moved to United States at the beginning of the 90's. After working for more than twenty years as an actress she decided to innovate in the field of Psychology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and with Distinctions with a Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling from Albizu University. In the last year, Alejandra was working with trauma therapies helping victims of domestic violence and crime in their path to recovery. She has an extensive experience in working with people with developmental disabilities in the field of Behavior Analysis. Alejandra emphasizes that ABA therapy help to develop the necessary skills to face everyday challenges and firmly believes that is essential to offer a personalized approach to satisfy your unique individual needs.
Meet Milagros Maldonado., M.S., LMHC.
Milagros (Millie) Maldonado is the Clinical Supervisor at Insight Behavioral Center. She grew up in Miami after migrating with her mother from Puerto Rico. Millie graduated from Albizu University with a Master in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling. Milagros did not agree with the labels for mental health disorders and reports that she felt strong working against stereotyping. With a background in theater, Milagros finds an immense love for humanity not judging but rather interested in each person’s journey. Milagros focused on working with trauma victims. She certified as a facilitator in the evidenced based technique TIR. Later on she also achieved a certification as a TIR trainer. Milagros is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has completed a concentration course as a state supervisor for mental health registered interns. She has been supervising interns since August, 2016. Milagros enjoys weight lifting, meditation, and dancing.
Meet Rosa V. Pereira., M.S.
Rosa Pereira is a founder and the Administrative Director at the Insight Behavioral Center. She was born in Argentina and grew up in Brazil. Rosa has a background in Finances in Brazil, after working several years in the field she decided to pursue an old dream, study Psychology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Albizu University and later she graduated from the same university with utmost distinction in a Master in Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. In the last year she worked with Trauma focused therapies serving victims of crimes, especially domestic violence. She is certified in Life coaching and other behavioral therapies. She is a believer in the effectiveness of the holistic treatments and the power of meditation.
Valeria Jimenez, Receptionist
Valeria was born and raised in Colombia, arrived in the US at age of 15 after studying in the German School. She is the daughter of a general surgeon and a bacteriologist and is pursuing her career in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration at FIU.She strongly believes that being humble, sincere and loving is the key for a better way of living. Her favorite quote is from Felix Lope de Vega: "When faced with an offense, the only worthy attitude is to ignore it. If we cannot ignore it, then it's better to overcome it; if you cannot, you'll have to laugh at it. If we can't laugh at it, then most likely we deserve it." She honors her family, loves her friends, enjoys listening to good music, and reading a good book. Valeria is a huge animal lover.
