Hi, my name is Hector Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a dual master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. I was born and raised in Cuba until in my early 20s when I decided to move to Europe. After two years living in Sweden and enjoying the beautiful Viking’s lands of Scandinavia, life’s circumstances led me to Miami, Florida, where I settled with my family and have been living for the past 25 years.
I graduated from Albizu University with a dual master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. My work for the last 4 years has been focused on helping our clients to heal their difficult life experiences as a Certified Trauma Incident Reduction Counselor. Besides working as a traumatologist, I use a solution-focused-client-centered therapy designed to help our clients to look at their life’s issues from different perspectives and identify new pathways to solve personal problems, family, work, etc. This technique allows the clients to use their resources, skills, and life experiences to achieve their life’s goals and be proud of how much they can accomplish by themselves.
I enjoy gardening for self-care, humor, reading philosophy, theology, traveling the world, arts, and lately, I found myself interested in ancient archeology and ancient civilizations. I am also fluent in English and Spanish.
